The Covid-19 pandemic has affected each and every aspect of our lives and Dentistry is no exception. The safety of our patients and our team is all the more important at this stage and we strive to provide dental care in a safe environment for all. 

At Summit Dental we have made drastic changes to our safety and infection control. We have gone above and beyond  the basic recommended standards which will enable us to work in a worry- free setting. After in-depth research, discussion and training, we have imported specialised equipments needed to implement extensive protocols. 

BEFORE ENTERING THE DENTAL CLINIC-

At Summit Dental, we have maintained distancing from various aspects-

• Entry by Appointment only

• Only one patient per doctor at a time - no wait time exceeding 15 minutes. No patients, unless minors or senior citizens, will be allowed to have attenders wait in the reception area. Anyone who enters the dental clinic will have to have their masks on- no exceptions.

• Our expansive waiting room leads itself well to allow people to be seated 6 feet apart- the furniture in the reception area is also disinfected after every patient.

• We have an Air Purifier in the waiting room with HEPA filters that is known to remove 99.95% of air contaminants including viruses.

• Our Front Office Personnel will meet you at the entry door and take a IR Temperature reading as well as a Pulse Oximeter reading before helping you with shoe covers and masks (if you are not already wearing one). You will be requested to sanitise your hands before and after the readings.

• Following this you will be escorted straight into the treatment room to meet with the doctor.

ON THE DENTAL CHAIR-

• Before you sit on the chair, we will ask you to rinse your mouth with an antibacterial mouthwash.

• All history and screening forms are digitised to prevent unnecessary contact.

• Our dental chairs are prepped and ready with disposable coverings for you which are discarded after every patient. We have the HEPA filter Air Purifier in all treatment rooms.

• Our dental team always has their mask on and is ready with their PPE/ Personal protective equipment gear during all appointments.

• 30 minute ‘fumigation’ time between appointments to disinfect and ‘fog’ the used treatment rooms.

• We perform an hourly disinfection of all high touch surfaces- e.g.- door handles, countertops etc with a hospital grade disinfectant.

POST PROCEDURE-

• We discard all the protective coverings as soon as you walk out.

• We will email and message all forms of paper work including post-operative instructions and prescriptions.

• We accept all forms of digital payments.
